Embroidery on vintage photos

I do embroidery by sewing directly into vintage photographs. Its embroidered patterns adorn the figures like elaborate costumes, but also suggest psychological expression, as if revealing the person's thoughts or feelings.

The antique look of the photographs is often at odds with the lines, colors and silky shimmer of the threads.

The combined media gives the effect of a dimension where history and future converge. found - dependent on people of the past to those of the present.

I use new techniques and new materials to express and represent my ideas, in order to give new life to vintage black and white photos and transform them into works of art.
