Dried rose petals for a colour accent
Rose petals have a pleasant floral and sweet aroma, but no pronounced flavour. They are often used for a pop of colour in Moorish kitchens (India, Persia, Morocco,...) and in potpourri.
Use of rose petals
Add some rose petals to dishes for a beautiful colour accent.
Rose tea
Pour 1 cup of hot water over 1 teaspoon of rose petals. Let steep for 5 minutes.
Rose sugar
Grind dried rose petals and sugar in a kitchen mill or mortar to make rose sugar. Rose sugar is delicious and beautiful in desserts and sweet dishes.
Rose pepper
Grind pink pepper and dried rose petals in a mortar to make rose pepper.
